Day 1: Baltic Cup in Viljandi

This weekend, September 28 and 29 Viljandi hosts international Baltic Cup bringing many of the Baltic sea region countries onto the small Estonian lake.

The annual competition is open for young rowers aged 15 to 17 and offers an excellent opportunity for the youth to taste the international rivalry moving towards next year’s world championship. Saturday saw the classical races on the 2000 metre distance. The race was open for ten boat classes. It were Germany and Belorussia scoring the most by winning each five gold medals.

Sunday will see the 500 meter sprints – the heats from 9am proceeding with the finals from 11 o’clock. The closing ceremony will be held just after the final races on Sunday 1pm.

The medals will be handed out on the individual basis as well for the best countries. See the detailed information, e.g. results, summaries etc. on the special menu.
